Privacy Policy

Last updated: . This policy explains what data OurDailyCalc collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • We don't collect personal data. No account, no sign-up, no email required to use OurDailyCalc.
  • Your calculations stay on your device. Inputs and results never reach our servers.
  • We use privacy-respecting analytics. Aggregate page views only — no individual tracking.
  • We may show ads via Google AdSense. Those ads use cookies; you can opt out (instructions below).
  • We never sell your data. Ever.

1. Information we collect

OurDailyCalc is a static website with no user accounts and no server-side database for personal data. Specifically:

  • Calculator inputs and results — these are processed entirely in your browser and never sent to our servers.
  • Local storage — we use your browser's localStorage to remember your theme preference (dark/light), recently used calculators, and any favourites you mark. This data lives only on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
  • Standard server logs — our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps basic access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, path) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are deleted after a short retention period.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

OurDailyCalc uses the following cookies / storage:

  • Strictly necessary (first-party) — localStorage entries like dailycal-theme and dailycal-recents. Without these, your preferences would reset on every visit.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_<ID>) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. We have IP anonymisation enabled and do not link analytics data to advertising data on our end. See section 3 for opt-out options.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense) — if and when ads are enabled, Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. See Google's policy for details on how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

3. Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third parties to deliver the site:

  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
  • Google Fonts — typeface delivery for Geist and Geist Mono. Google may log requests for these resources.
  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic measurement (page views, country, device type). We have IP anonymisation enabled, which prevents your full IP address from being stored. You can opt out by installing the official Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by enabling Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control in your browser. See Google's privacy policy for what they receive.
  • Google AdSense — advertising (when enabled). See section 2.

4. How we use information

The limited information we have access to is used only to:

  • Deliver the website and keep it secure;
  • Understand which calculators are popular so we can prioritise improvements;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not:

  • Sell personal information to third parties;
  • Build advertising profiles ourselves;
  • Email or message you (we have no email list).

5. Children's privacy

OurDailyCalc is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at aashishsah9898@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g. the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights under data-protection laws including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information about you. Because OurDailyCalc does not collect personal information that identifies you, in most cases there is no data to retrieve or delete. For requests or questions, email aashishsah9898@gmail.com.

7. Data retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 30 days. Local data on your device persists until you clear it. Analytics data, where collected, is aggregated and retained for up to 24 months.

8. Security

All traffic to OurDailyCalc is encrypted with HTTPS. Because we don't store personal data on our servers, the surface area for breaches is minimal. We follow industry best practices to protect what we do collect.

9. International transfers

Our hosting and CDN providers operate globally. By using OurDailyCalc, you consent to information being processed in countries that may have different data-protection rules than your home jurisdiction.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
